Recmaresth Esther Martínez - Using Art As A Tool For Peace

Esther studied at Madrid's Complutense University

"I believe in art as a peacemaker, capable of working miracles anywhere in the world and I believe in art as an engine of love and union, without a doubt. It is generous, encouraging, harmonious, overflowing ... Art is love," Esther Martínez Recuero is as passionate about fostering change in the world as she is about creativity. Born in Madrid, she studied Bellas Artes at the Complutense University in her home city as well as learning more of her craft at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna in Italy.

Her paintings are an explosion of colour, often drawing inspiration from nature. But she also likes to create city scapes and participated in the 39éme Moussem d ́Assilah July 2017 event in Morocco, painting an exclusive mural for the city. And Guindalera itself was gifted some of her beautiful work, when she painted a mural for La Gasolinera on c/Cartegena in 2018 - which has sadly been taken down since. She has taken part in many exhibitions in Madrid and Malaga and frequently auctions her work, with proceeds going to social causes. Her website is well worth a visit to get an idea of the range and diversity of her work and follow her on Instagram:@recmaresth to keep in the loop on her latest news.
