Built in 1928 by architect Luis Alemany Soler (who later went on to design the Santiago Bernabéu stadium), this beautiful building stands majestically on the corner of c/Francisco Silvela and c/Coslada. Having been used as a government building for much of its existence, it was auctioned in 2014 and acquired by Pescaderías Coruñesas who have thankfully restored what had been a crumbling facade and given it a new lease of life. Part of it will become a restaurant while another section will house an old people’s day centre, kids’ play area or library for the residents of La Guindalera.
Fue construido en 1928 por el arquitecto Luis Alemany Soler (quien construiría unos años más tarde el Estadio Santiago Bernabéu), este edificio bellísimo se sitúa en la esquina de c/Francisco Silvela y c/Coslada. Durante mucho de su existencia, perteneció al gobierno, quien lo puso en venta en subasta pública en 2014. Fue comprado por Pescaderías Coruñesas, quien lo ha restaurado perfectamente. Parte del edificio será convertido en un restaurante mientras que la otra será para uso de los vecinos de la Guindalera: como un centro de mayores, ludoteca y/o biblioteca.
